Im Zusammenhang mit einer Projektstudie für die Errichtung eines einzigartigen Indoor Ski Projektes entwickelte Prof. Jürg Steiner den „Iceberg“. Nach einem Apercu des Entertainment-Gurus Jörg von Hau wurde ein Gebilde nach dem Bild »Das Eismeer« von Caspar David Friedrich entworfen. Der Entwurf gilt als ein gutes Beispiel für die besondere Memoaktivität von »Skulpturaler Architektur«. Ein 180 Meter hoher „Iceberg“ scheint vor einer Insel zu schwimmen. Alle mit Eis verbundene Freizeitvergnügen wie Skifahren, Rodeln, Eislaufen sollen sich mit Hotels, Einkaufszentren einem arktischem Zoo, einem Convention Centre sowie weiteren Aktivitäten verbinden.
In connection to a project-study for building an unique Indoor Ski Complex for the kingdom of Bahrain, Prof. Steiner developed the “Iceberg”. In refer to an idea of the entertainment-guru Jörg von Hau the picture “Das Eismeer” by Caspar David Freidrich was chosen to be the example for this building. This draft represents a good example for the memo-activity of “Sculptural Architecture”. An “Iceberg” of 180 meters height, seams to swim in front of the island Bahrain, in front of the desert. Every leisure activity connected to ice, like skiing, ice skiing, toboggan are combined with hotels, shopping malls, a convention centre and an arctic zoo as well as with many other possible activities.
